What is Gfdnavi?

Gfdnavi is a suite of software that facilitates databasing of geophysical fluid data, their analysis, and visualization. Gfdnavi enables you to start a Web server for data publication and visualization. It is also suitable to manage and analyze data for yourself on your PC.

Currently, a Gfdnavi server can provide data that are local to the server, but developments are underway to support access across multiple Gfdnavi servers. Also, web service APIs are now under develoment.

Gfdnavi is based on two technologies: Ruby on Rails, a comprehensive Web development framework, and the data handling tools developed in the Dennou Ruby project.
