S-L 9 Impacts and Jovian Satellite Eclipses Phil Nicholson This figure shows the times of occultation (black bars) and eclipse (grey stipple) for Amalthea, Thebe, Io, Europa and Ganymede between July 16.0 and 23.0, 1994, based on my own calculations. Overplotted as dashed lines are the predicted impact times for the comet nuclei, as given by John Spencer on Dec 15. Lower case letters = faint nuclei, upper case letters = bright nuclei. The results are consistent with John's predictions, so far as I can tell. The plot can be readily revised when there are new impact times available. Noteworthy at present are the impacts of fragments b (Amal eclipse), E (soon after Amal ecl), H (soon after Io ecl), j (Amal ecl), K (Europa ecl), n (Thebe ecl), S (soon after Amal ecl), t (just before Thebe ecl), and W (Io ecl).
