Images of the rotating table were observed on a television monitor by attaching a transmitter (Mizubo Tsuushin, PT3U) purchased at an electronics store to a video camera. Unfortunately, production of this transmitter was halted in 1989 with the revision of the Radio Wave Law, and is difficult to obtain. However, in this experiment, it is unnecessary to send a signal tens of meters, so a RF converter (an adapter used to connect a television with no video input terminals to a video recorder) with an antenna attached directly to its output can be used as a transmitter instead. Either way, the shape of the rotating table causes a directivity, so in order to get a steady signal, it is best to position a 1/4 wavelength conductor from the roof directly above the center of the rotating table as a receiving antenna.
In order to take photographs on the rotating table, a motor drive and remote control work well. However, when using bulb photography, you have to physically press the shutter, so a remote control won't work. Instead of the remote, we made up a mechanism that pressed the shutter release using an electromagnetic solenoid, and operated it through a slip ring from outside the rotating system.
